Jesse Thompson, Ph.D.
Associate Director, Large Molecule Bioanalysis Group

Dr. Jesse Alan Thompson is the head of the Large Molecule bioanalysis team at CMIC Inc.  Dr. Thompson has been technical lead on the development, optimization, and validation of methods in a GLP/GMP environment to test biologic therapeutics using state-of-the-art technologies and instrumentation.  He has overseen early- to late- phase analytics to support clinical trials for products within the biosimilar, antibody-based, cancer, vaccine, and gene therapy spaces.  Previous academic experience includes teaching microbiology and virology as an adjunct professor, hematopoietic stem cell gene therapy research, and molecular characterization of the HIV and FIV lentiviruses.  Conforming to regulatory guidelines, Dr. Thompson has led teams that delivered analytical solutions using platforms including flow cytometry, qPCR, ddPCR, ELISA, ECL, and cell-based potency assays.  Dr. Thompson received his B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Montana (go Griz), his Ph.D. in Molecular Virology and Viral Pathology from Colorado State University, and was awarded an NIH Post-Doctoral fellowship at the University of Nebraska.  Prior to joining CMIC, Inc., Dr. Thompson was a Scientist and Lead Scientist at two major CROs.
